Three Reasons Why You Need to Space Clear your Tech
Chaos in the home equals chaos in the mind, but the same statement also rings true if you have an inbox bursting with hundreds of unopened emails! Not only will space clearing your tech help you to be more productive and better organized, but it will also allow you to stay better aligned with your goals. In much the same way that the vibrational field of our homes can affect us (the higher the vibration, the better the abundance-attracting energy flow!), our phones, laptops, and computers can affect us too. Read on to see why you need to make space clearing your tech the top of your to-do list:
1/ Your Laptop or Computer Wallpaper Can Be Sabotaging Your Manifestations For Success
If, like most business-oriented workers today, you find yourself facing a screen for upwards of eight hours a day, you can’t underestimate the impact that your desktop or laptop wallpaper is having on keeping you on track with your goals.
I’ve seen it countless times before with my clients: they think that having a photo of a beautiful nature scene or a snapshot from their latest family vacation as their wallpaper will help to boost their mood. According to Feng Shui however, there are two reasons why this mightn’t be the best idea.
Firstly, when you sit down to work, you want your mind to stay focused on the work. Having these sorts of images on display can serve as a distraction and cause your mind to wander. It also sends a message to the Universe that you’re not making your success a priority: “I know I have to put in the work if I ever want that six-figure income, but I’d much rather look at this photo of my dog instead!”
Secondly, the images we look at and have around us, even if we’re not consciously aware of it, have a huge influence on what we manifest and the symbolism that an image can have can actually be actively working against our goals for success. For example, I once worked with a very famous music producer who was in a bit of a career slump. He’d just moved to New Mexico and the wallpaper on his computer was a photo he’d taken while traveling through a nearby desert. Although it was a very striking image, I told him, “Do you think that’s the best image to have in the background while you work? The desert, with its droughts, dust, and tumbleweed?” Upon my instructions, he changed his wallpaper to a photo of him on stage receiving an industry award and, soon enough, his phone started ringing again and he was booked solid with work.
Your Action Plan: Change your wallpaper to something more work-oriented instead, like your company logo, a team photo of you with your colleagues, or even a copy of your Diamond Vision Board.
2/ Your Financial Organization (Or Lack Thereof) Can Be Affecting Your Ability to Attract Abundance
Negative emotions, like stress, shame, or worry, can bring down our vibrational frequency and when that happens, it can be harder for us to attract the things we want. Let’s reframe that in terms of attracting increased money-flow: if your invoices, business contracts, and any money-related files are saved in completely random places on your computer and it takes you hours of frantic searching to locate anything, do you think that’s going to help you attract more money?
Utilizing mindful file management on your computer is just one way you can remove stress surrounding money, ensuring that the way you think about abundance remains positive and optimistic. From digital storage systems to automated invoicing programs, tech can be a great tool to help keep things orderly and it may even be worthwhile for you to consult an accountant to see if there’s any way for you to automate or streamline your financial processes to help maintain a stress-free zone.
Your Action Plan: Make sure all your invoices and business contracts are stored in dedicated, well-labeled folders on your computer and consider backing-them up on an external harddrive for extra peace of mind.
3/ Your Social Media Can Be Lowering Your Vibrational Frequency
We’re all guilty of mindlessly scrolling through social media every now and again, but the people and profiles you look at can affect your vibrational frequency. If you’re following people who make you feel inferior or inadequate, not only can this have a negative effect on your self-esteem, but it can also make it harder for you to attract the things you want. Struggling to think of yourself as “worthy” of success and abundance can put you in a poverty mindset. This is when your mind stays focused on what you lack in your life (such as not being as rich, successful, or attractive as that influencer you follow) instead of being grateful for what you have and optimistic for what’s coming your way.
Similarly, it might be the case that the profiles you follow no longer align with your goals. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, follow profiles that post inspirational business quotes or offer up important advice. If you want to attract a new relationship, follow people who are in happy and healthy relationships instead of those who seem to always be complaining about their other half. It might also be a good idea to space clear your own profiles, updating information and deleting any posts or photos that no longer reflect who you are as a person.
Your Action Plan: Go through all your social media channels and unfollow any accounts that don’t align with your current goals or that make you feel bad about yourself. If you follow someone, perhaps a friend, who posts content that doesn’t particularly align with you but you don’t want to unfollow them, consider muting their posts.
