Three Feng Shui Hacks to Transform Your Garden

There’s something so special about sitting out in your own garden, surrounded by green grass and colorful flowers, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Our gardens can be a magical haven; a place where we can simply sit and enjoy the beauty of nature without having to stray too far from home. But just like your home, there are certain Feng Shui rules that come with maintaining a harmonious garden space. To help you get started, here are four Feng Shui hacks that will help you to boost the positive energy and attract abundance, balance, and success!

1/ In Feng Shui, the vibrational field of your home actually extends up to ten feet (or three meters) around the physical building itself. This means that your garden can have just as important an effect on your energy flow as your home! As a result, make an effort to keep your garden neat, tidy, and free from clutter. Make sure you keep any garbage cans as far away from your home as you possibly can, along with any sharp gardening tools or compost piles. All these things can have a negative effect on the vibrational field of your home.

It’s also a good idea to regularly check your outdoor plants to ensure they’re still healthy and vibrant. If you do have any plants outdoors that are dying, remove them as soon as possible so as not to let the dwindling life force affect your home’s energy field. Also, avoid planting any spiky plants such as holly bushes since the spikes can “stab” at the positive flow of energy.

2/ It’s no secret that I love incorporating lavender into my Feng Shui rituals; from burning lavender incense to refresh the vibrational field around me to cleansing the energy of a hotel room with lavender wipes, this humble plant has powerful energetic properties. It’s also a beautiful fragrant and fairly easy plant to maintain, so consider planting some in the Southwest, South, or Northeast area of your garden to help attract harmony to your home. Not only that, it’s a fantastic plant for pollinating insects, so you’ll be doing your bit to help Mother Nature too!

3/ If you have any protective statues in your garden (for example, an angel or Buddha statue), place them near the back of the house so that they’re able to look over your home and you’ll be able to feel supported by their divine presence. If you have trees in your garden, you can also place a gnome statue at the foot of the tallest tree. This will help ensure balance, and also help to welcome gnomes and fairies to take care of and protect your garden.
