Say “I Do!” to a Memorable Wedding With These Four Feng Shui Tips
Weddings are such a beautifully special celebration of love, joy, and commitment, but that doesn’t mean organizing one is easy! Weeks, months, even years of careful planning go into coordinating the perfect wedding - from curating a flawless seating plan to ensuring any post-champagne toast drunken mishaps are kept to a minimum, there’s certainly a lot to juggle. To help create a day that’s happy, harmonious, and free from stress, here are my top four wedding planning tips:
1/ Upgrade Your Seating Plan with Feng Shui
The principles of power position don’t just apply to your office or bedroom; they can apply to large-scale events like wedding receptions too! Most importantly, the wedding couple needs to be seated in power position (that is, seated facing the door and with a clear view of everyone in the room).
Next, it’s important that the chairs and tables used at the wedding reception follow the rules of power position. The chairs must have full backs so avoid any with slats or open holes at the back. Not only does this make for a more comfortable experience for you and your guests (especially any ladies wearing elegant open-backed dresses!) but energetically speaking, it will help you all to feel emotionally supported too.
As for the tables, I would suggest having round tables if you’re confident that all your guests get along. When you sit at a round table, not only does the lack of sharp corners help the positive energy flow better, but it also allows you to face and interact with everyone at the table.
If you have any guests that are prone to “overindulging” when it comes to the wedding reception cocktails, make sure that they’re seated as far away from the bar as possible, ideally with their back to it. With temptation so far away, you’ll find that they’re far more likely to behave themselves - out of sight, out of mind!
2/ Give Your Color Scheme a Diamond Quantum Twist
You can use the Diamond Quantum Colors to help attract that loving energy to your wedding. Pink represents “tenderness”, so incorporate this color to attract appreciation, sweetness, and tender attention. Rose represents “love”, so incorporate this color to attract support from your family and friends, and boost your relationships with your spouse-to-be, friends, and family. You can use these colors in the form of candles, flowers, napkins, decorative bows for the chairs - let those creative juices flow!
White is also a great color to use because it represents “purity”, attracting a fresh new start for your marriage. Lastly, gold represents “abundance”, meaning that incorporating it into your color scheme will ensure that you’ll both be financially lucky in your marriage.
3/ Candles, Crystals, and Keeping Down the Pollen Count!
Place some white quartz crystals on the bar, or incorporate them into the centerpiece on each table at the reception. White quartz is a very powerful crystal that works to absorb negativity, meaning that it can help nip any family arguments or drunken hijinx in the bud!
Placing two heart-shaped rose quartz crystals on each table (or at the very least on the head table) will help to attract love and romance, and enhance the celebration of the wedding couple’s relationship.
If you decide to use candles for your reception, you can activate them beforehand to manifest love, harmony, and balance for your big day. I find that vanilla-scented candles are best for this since their sweet aroma is instantly comforting. When you go to light it, close your eyes and put your intention into it to activate it. Something like “I am lighting this to ensure all my guests are happy” or “I am lighting this to ensure my wedding is a day filled with love, light, and laughter”. Whilst you’ll probably have the candle burning for the entirety of the night, make sure it’s been burning for at least nine minutes before you blow it out since the number nine represents “completion” in Feng Shui.
Finally, no wedding is complete without stunning floral arrangements, but keep in mind that some people are highly sensitive to flowers and their pollen. Flowers like jasmine, daisies, and sunflowers have high pollen contents and can leave your guests weepy-eyed and sneezing for the whole night! Stick with flowers with little to no airborne (roses are the ideal choice) to ensure that all your guests are comfortable.
4/ Show Your Appreciation With a Card
Remember, your guests will be taking time out of their everyday schedules to celebrate your special day with you, so remember to show your gratitude. Sending out thank-you cards is a no-brainer, but you can go one step further and prepare them all beforehand so that they’re ready to hand out as your guests leave.
You can use a photo of you and your spouse-to-be on the front, and choose a gold, pink, or white colored envelope. Use a gold-colored pen to write each guest a personal message, thanking them for their love and support. Spray some rose-scented perfume on the envelope and then hand them out to your guests on the night.
